Accessibility
History in Action takes place at Newbury Showground, which offers excellent facilities including accessibility features for visitors with disabilities. Most of the site is easy to navigate with paved pathways, making it suitable for those with mobility needs. The ground is generally flat, with some gentle slopes in areas like the Battlefield and surrounding woods. While the woods have uneven terrain, wheelchair users can access them with some assistance.
Accessible toilets are available throughout the showground, with extra temporary accessible facilities provided near the Battlefield and Public Camping areas. Please note that there are no changing places facilities on site.
To enhance your experience, we have a dedicated viewing area for visitors with disabilities to comfortably watch the battlefield events.
Please be aware that some displays include loud noises and bangs. Hearing aid users may need to adjust their devices, and visitors with sensory sensitivities might find ear defenders helpful.
Blue badge holders have access to a reserved parking area. Please display your badge clearly upon arrival, and our parking team will direct you to the designated space. Parking is limited, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot.
For those camping on site, accessible toilets and showers are available in the public camping area.

For those who have difficulty walking and may have difficulty in getting around the showground we have teamed up with Advanced Mobility Solutions are pleased they will be attending the show this year with a selection of both powered and non-powered mobility scooters & wheelchairs. These can be booked online directly with Advanced Mobility Solutions. You can prebook your mobility scooter with them directly on the website by calling them on 01274 297777.
Blue Badge Holders – Parking
Disabled badge holders attending the show are kindly reminded to ensure their Blue Badges are clearly displayed upon arrival at the showground. This allows stewards to easily identify vehicles requiring accessible parking and direct them to the appropriate designated spaces. Proper display of the badge helps ensure a smooth and efficient parking process, providing convenient access to the event for those with mobility needs.
Carers Tickets
Carer tickets are available for those accompanying individuals who receive the Enhanced level of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or the Higher rate of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or the Higher rate of Attendance Allowance. These tickets ensure that carers can provide necessary support throughout the event. Tickets can be obtained from the onsite ticket office on show days, with appropriate documentation confirming eligibility required. This helps make the event more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
